For those who are members of the Bernards Township Pleasant Valley Pool, Monday's Family Day is scheduled as a catch-all combination of many of the events that have been rained out this year.
Family Day at the pool in Pleasant Valley Park off Valley Road is an all-day affair, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Rain date is Tuesday, Aug. 20.
The event is a "make-up of all the fun we had rained out this summer," according to the Bernards Township Parks and Recreation Department. All pool members and their guests are invited.
As part of the activities, foam noodles will be permitted all day in the pool, and grandparents of members will be admitted for free throughout the event.
Crafts with the staff are available from 1 to 4 p.m., and fun and games with an interactive DJ are scheduled for 4:30 to 7 p.m.
However, the annual dance and swim night originally scheduled for middle school-aged pool members on Monday has been canceled.
Meanwhile, there are other recreational summer activities coming up this week at the Bernards Township Library at 32 S. Maple Ave., Basking Ridge.
Monday's free feature film from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the library is "Ice Age — Continental Drift." Running time is 88 minutes.
Game Day is every Friday from 1 to 3 p.m., with a wide variety of board and card games and puzzles from which to select. No registration needed, just drop in!
