Meetings Continue at Bernards Town Hall Through This Week

New Bernards Twp. Committee member set to be named on Tuesday. Monday Board of Ed meeting at board offices.

Bernards Township Committee meetings. and other major municipal meetings during  September and October are due to be moved to the Bernards Township Library, but all will remain status quo as far as location this month.

The courtroom and municipal meeting room are due to undergo major renovations this fall in preparation for updating furniture, technology and more, township officials have said.

But for this week, anyway, the Township Committee will be in its usual spot at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Town Hall at 1 Collyer Lane.

Township Committee members are due to chose one of three Republicans to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Township Committeeman Scott Spitzer earlier this month.

One of those potential new Republican candidates, Carol Bianchi, is among the three chosen on Monday by the Republican Municipal Committee for potential Township Committee members to fill Spitzer's seat through Dec. 31.

The other two, Lisa Marshall and Kenneth White, were approved unanimously by the Republican Municipal Committee.

Bernards Board of Education meeting on Monday

The Board of Education also is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, but not at the usual place. The meeting will again take place at the board offices at 101 Peachtree Road in Basking Ridge.

Also this Thursday, the Bernards Township Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall at 1 Collyer Lane.

In preparation for the renovations, Township Committee meetings set for Sept. 10 and 24, and Oct. 15 and 29 are being moved to the Bernards Townshp Library, Township Clerk Denise Szabo previously announced.

The meetings are scheduled to be held in program room B in the library, located at 32 S. Maple Ave. in downtown Basking Ridge.
