Added activities for kids make fundraiser even more special.

By John Patten

Each week, Patch brings you an idea of something to do to enjoy some free time for yourself, or with friends and family. Here is this week's choice:

Take your kids to the Hillsborough Jump!Zone’s Summer Fair Sunday and you’ll be doing more than letting them have a few hours of carefree fun.

The activity center’s first fair will be benefitting Autism Speaks, with proceeds from the $10 admissions and sponsored activities going to the research and advocacy organization. Jump!Zone is already a popular spot for kids to visit but with raffles, a magician, face painting and juggling added, promises to be even more fun.

The fair will also include a “Touch a Truck” event, with Hillsborough fire trucks and rescue squad vehicles on display for kids to climb on and explore.

“We wanted to do something fun over the summer…we also wanted to have a way for the fair to benefit a good cause,” Jump!Zone’s owner Gayle Harris said. She added the choice to help Autism Speaks stemmed from other benefit programs the center has participated in.

Also participating at the event are Kindermusik with Ms Jenni,, Kickside Martial Arts, Circus Place, Salon Dare (which is offering blue hair extensions for $5 donations to Autism Speaks).

And the Somerset Patriots mascot Sparkee will make an appearance.
The Summer Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
