Snow in south jersey, a cold few days ahead, followed by a warm-up!

Hello all and welcome to another week!

So this storm was quite interesting and will definitely be a learning experience for us all. What appeared to be quite a snowstorm 3 days ago trailed to the south and east and was pushed that way by the impressive cold, dry air coming down from the north. Future forecasts will really need to take into account that the models do not have a good grip on storms until the systems are over land. This storm was off the coast of Cali for so long that it wrecked havoc on the data that led to wildly varying solutions.

Anyway, for my south jersey folks, you are still seeing snow at this hour, and it should last through early afternoon. After that, clearing will occur from north to south. Tonight will be COLD COLD COLD so be prepared! Temps at or below 0° are definitely possible this evening.

The rest of the week we will see warming temps as each day progresses. Your week ahead forecast will come later on with a new format hopefully coming from Your NJ Weather! You’ll see ;)

Thank you all for your support and dedication to the weather! Enjoy your day!
