Two of my children attended GSCP. It was a wonderful experience for them (and me too!). I am a former preschool teacher and was extremely impressed with the curriculum. It has the perfect balance of learning and play! The school just underwent a beautiful renovation which has expanded the school. All of the classes are now offered in the mornings which is so convenient! They have a new state of the art "fingerprint" security system for parents and security cameras to keep everyone extra safe. My favorite time of the year at Gentle Shepherd is in the fall when the farmer comes and delivers eggs that the students "take care of" in their classrooms. Many children actually witness the new chicks hatch from their shells. Then the farmer comes back with lots of farm animals (cows, turkeys, sheep, pigs, turkey, bunnies!) for Harvest Day where the children get to have a fall celebration and spend time in their own private petting zoo.
I could go on and on! I suggest anyone looking for a preschool to call Martha and schedule a tour. Once you visit you will feel what a happy place it is!

Affiliated with the Somerset Hills Lutheran Church, the Gentle Shepherd Christian Preschool was founded in 1993. The school provides students with a Christian education, including daily prayer and a curriculum focused on age appropriate development levels. My two children attended Gentle Shepherd and we all loved it! The school offers a warm and caring, family-like atmosphere and the perfect balance of play and academics. The classrooms are bright and cheery, unlike some of the basement preschools in the area. The enrichment programs are great. My kids loved computers, cooking, Tae Kwon Do, Soccer, Art...Gentle Shepherd is an excellent preschool that does a great job preparing children for a successful future.
