Red Devils scores seven touchdowns against Kearny.
The Ridge High School varsity football team hosted Kearny at Lee Field in a consolation round game Friday night to conclude the 2011 season. The Red Devils dominated Kearny from the opening kickoff to the final buzzer in the 48-14 victory. For an extensive photo gallery from Friday night's game, head here. IN SHORT In the fourth quarter, Ridge senior defensive tackle Alex Connery stripped the ball from the Kearny running back and took the ball 45 yards for his first career touchdown. Summit is the sole remaining unbeaten team in the Mid-State 39 Conference.
The Bridgewater-Raritan Panthers have only one win this season, but on Friday night against Phillipsburg they played like they were one of the top teams in the conference, nearly defeating Phillipsburg (6-2) in a game that went down to the last minute, according to NJ.com. Phillipsburg had been behind by four points before scoring a touchdown with 45 seconds remaining in the game. Hillsborough lost one of its most important games of the season against North Hunterdon in a game that went to overtime. Hillsborough came back to tie the game in the fourth quarter, but could not hold on, giving up three points to North Hunterdon in the first overtime, losing 30-27. John Banaciski scored three of Hillsborough’s rushing touchdowns in the game. …

Ridge has tough time with impressive Franklin squad.
The Ridge High School football team took on Franklin Friday night in the final game of the regular season. Though the Red Devils would fall, fans were able to honor the seniors on the team, as well as those in the band and on the cheerleading squad. For a recape of Friday night's game, head here.

Warriors defense is dominant vs. Red Devils in final regular season game.
The Ridge High School varsity football team played host to Franklin Friday night at Lee Field on the final night of the regular season. The evening was a celebration of seniors, but the Devils were unable to keep up with Franklin losing, 41-3. For a full photo gallery from Senior Night, head here. IN SHORT The Devils started the evening celebrating Senior Night by honoring the senior members of the band, the cheerleading squad, and the football team. Each squad was introduced and walked to midfield at Lee Field to the cheers of the Ridge faithful. Undefeated Bernards High (7-0) still in running in the Mid-State 39 Conference after last Friday's win over Belvidere.
Two games ago, Hillsborough was 4-2 and had won two straight games to get there. Two weeks later, after losses to Union and Phillipsburg, the Raiders are back at even going into their last game of the regular season against North Hunterdon on Friday. Last week, North Hunterdon squeaked by Montgomery with a 21-20 win after scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter, according to NJ.com. When Hillsborough defeated Montgomery in September, it was in another game that came down to the fourth quarter, with the Raiders pulling out the last minute win, 18-14. Week 8 a big one for both those near the bottom of the standings, as well as those on top.
Week 8 was full of important games throughout the Mid-State 39 Conference. In the Watchung Division, two of the top teams in the conference, Immaculata (8-0) and Elizabeth (6-2) faced each other in a game that forced Immaculata to defend its position atop the division. NJ.com reported that Immaculata came away with the victory and remains the top ranked team by The Star-Ledger in the conference, and one of only four undefeated Mid-State 39 teams left this season. In the Mountain Division, two teams that were undefeated, Summit and Cranford, battled for first place. Red Devils can't knock off Bridgewater-Raritan, as Panthers secure their first victory.
The Ridge High School football team traveled to Bridgewater-Raritan High School Friday night to play the rival Panthers at Basilone Field. Ridge fell to the Panthers, 25-14, with Bridgewater picking up its first victory of the season on its homecoming. For a photo gallery from Friday night's game, head here.
