Incumbents Take Local Bernards Elections
Both Township Committee and Board of Education incumbents hold onto their seats.
There apparently won't be any chance in the lineup on either the Bernards Township Committee or the Board of Education following Tuesday night's election, according to unofficial vote results. Final results must be certified by Somerset County. Township Clerk Denise Szabo said Tuesday's results — tallied in the nearby police headquarters because the municipal building at 1 Collyer lane remained without power — do not include absentee or provisional ballots. Despite Sandy's continuing impact on Bernards Township, where about half of the town was without power on Tuesday, the election attracted 56.37 percent of the township's 19,104 registered voters, according to the unofficial results.
