Scrabble Tournament Aims to Spell End to Hunger

Bernardsville Democrats holding contest and collection for food bank this Sunday at Bernardsville Public Library.

There's a call out this weekend to game and word lovers over age 16 prepare to shake their tile bags and test their brains while helping to contribute food donations during the this Sunday's Scrabble tournament, "Spell an End to Hunger," scheduled to be held at the Bernardsville Public Library. The second annual tournament is organized by the Bernardsville Democratic Committee, and is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the library at 1 Anderson Hill Road in Bernardsville. Food Bank Collection This Fri.; Update on 'Curbing Hunger' Recycling Pickup

Several ways to donate to Food Bank Network of Somerset County, including two Basking Ridge locations.

The next “Buy One, Bring One” (BOBO) collection of food and personal-care items for needy families in Somerset County will be held this Friday, including at Somerset County park locations in Basking Ridge. The Food Bank Network of Somerset County now is serving about 3,000 individuals a month, including about 800 families, according to its executive director, Marie Scannell.  The two locations in Bernards Township are at the county park commission's Environmental Education Center; 190 Lord Stirling Road; and at Lord Stirling Stable, 256 S. Maple Ave. in Basking Ridge. Basking Ridge Has Two Locations for Friday's Collection For Food and Other Items for Needy

"BoBo Friday" drop-off locations at Environmental Education Center and Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge.

Two Basking Ridge locations will be accepting donations Friday for Somerset County's next “Buy One, Bring One” (BOBO) collection of food and personal-care items for needy families in the county. Public drop-off locations include: The Lord Stirling Environmental Education Center, 190 Lord Stirling Road, Basking Ridge Somerset County Lord Stirling Stable, 256 S. Maple Ave., Basking Ridge Somerset County Administration Building, 20 Grove St., Somerville Somerset County/Bridgewater Library, North Bridge Street & Vogt Drive, Bridgewater Somerset County Park Commission Headquarters, 355 Milltown Road, Bridgewater Look for the blue “BOBO Friday” bins at these locations.
