Somerset GOP Celebrates Wins, Leads

With some races still too close to call, county Republicans got together at the Somerville Elks Club.

Somerset County Republicans came together Tuesday night at the Somerville Elks Club to celebrate election day and the end of their campaigns. Update: Freeholder Candidates Set for November Election

All four ran unopposed in Tuesday's primary.

The candidates for Somerset County Freeholder are set to appear on ballots for November's general election after Tuesday's uncontested primary. Republican incumbents Peter S. Palmer (Bernardsville) and Robert Zaborowski (Somerset) will represent the GOP against Democratic challengers Iorwuese “Wes” Ifan (Manville) and Christian Mastondrea (Hillsborough). The unofficial results posted on the Somerset County Clerk's website at mid-morning on Wednesday showed Palmer had received 6,422 votes and Zaborowski 6,192 from registered Republican voters in the county.
