UPDATE: Building on Collyer Lane hoped to reopen Tuesday afternoon.
The Bernards Township Town Hall at the municipal complex at 1 Collyer Lane remained closed on Tuesday morning while repairs were underway on the historic building's heating system. The problem is with boilers that heat the structure, said Township Administrator Bruce McArthur. Once repairs are complex, the heating system will be tested, he said. McArthur said he is hopeful that municipal employees, now in locations around the township, will be back in the building by the afternoon. McArthur said he hoped that scheduled repairs on Tuesday morning will allow municipal offices to reopen in the afternoon Planning Board meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday to be held.
