Verizon Workers Walk to Fight Domestic Violence

Warren-based employees pitch in Wednesday to help company's Walk for Hope project.

More than 600 Verizon Wireless employees, many from the company's Warren offices and at the Verizon center in Basking Ridge, took a break Wednesday for a fundraiser as part of Domestic Violence Awareness month in October. The effort to support HopeLine, a program aimed at combatting domestic violence, brought together Verizon employees for an afternoon of fun and fitness while also helping survivors of domestic violence.  Walks were held at Verizon offices from throughout the Northeast, with a large number of those employees at the Basking Ridge facility, said a Verizon spokesman.
