Full schedule of open houses in Basking Ridge and Bernardsville.
This weekend is the return of another full schedule of open house tours, as the spring housing market resumes after Easter. Dozens of homes in Basking Ridge and Bernardsville were planning open house dates on Sunday, according to the Garden State Multiple Listing Service and AOL Real Estate. Many of the Basking Ridge homes fall into the single family home category this week. One home in Bernardsville and one in Basking Ridge each are listed for more than $2 million. Zillow put the 30-year mortgage rate at a still very low 3.43 percent as of its weekly report on Tuesday, a small amount down from the previous week's 3.47 percent. Whether or not it's official, the spring housing market bloomed in the Somerset Hills this weekend, with dozens of open house tours scheduled for this Sunday in Basking Ridge and Bernardsville. While the still historically low 30-year mortgage rate was inching up earlier this year, it now has wafted down a little again this week, reaching 3.36 percent mid-week, according to Zillow. Despite it's smaller size, this Sunday's schedule in Bernardsville had as many open houses scheduled as Basking Ridge as of the beginning of the weekend. Home with open houses scheduled for this weekend spanned a wide price range in both towns, with Bernardsville having a wider difference at price — starting with a $225,000 one-bedroom apartment and up to a 8,000 square foot home being marketed for almost $2.8 million. Basking Ridge had more homes in what would be considered a moderate price range for the Somerset Hills.
