Liberty Corner Hosting Memorial Day Parade in Bernards Twp.

Downtown Basking Ridge and Liberty Corner Village rotate the annual parade — and on May 27, it's Liberty Corner's turn again.

This year, the Bernards Township Memorial Day Parade again will be hosted in Liberty Corner, with the assembled paraders set to step off from the Liberty Corner Firehouse at 95 Church St. at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 27. Each year, the annual parade is held in either Liberty Corner Village or Basking Ridge center, and this year the event is back in Liberty Corner. The Bernards Township Committee, Bernards police department, Basking Ridge Fire Company and First Aid Squad, Liberty Corner First Aid Squad and Liberty Corner Fire Company will assemble at 9 a.m. at the firehouse, according to information from the fire company. JCP&L President, BPU Expected in Bernards

Updated: Meeting with Board of Public Utilities now scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. next Monday at the William Annin Middle School.

The president of Jersey Central Power & Light and members of the Board of Public Utilities will appear in Bernards Township at a public meeting next Monday to discuss the utility's response to Superstorm Sandy, Township Committee Member John Malay said Tuesday night. The state Board of Public Utilities issued a notice that the meeting to meeting to solicit public comment on JCP&L's preparedness and responsiveness before, during and after Hurricane Sandy will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the auditorium in the William Annin Middle School, 70 Quincy Road, Basking Ridge.
