Ridge Ice Hockey Wins Monday State Quarterfinals Game: UPDATE

Semifinal game against Randolph to be played 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Ridge High School ice hockey moves swiftly ahead to a semifinal game in the state playoffs against Randolph High School at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Codey Arena in West Orange, following the team's 6-5 victory over Brick Township in a quarterfinal game on Monday. The game against Brick Township High School was played late Monday afternoon at Bridgewater Sports Arena. Ridge goalie Robbie Fenton had 16 saves on 21 shots. Other statistics from the game, according to information from the team: Ridge also beat beat Middletown North High School 5 to 3 last Thursday in the second round of the state playoffs, allowing the team to advance to the quarterfinals. Earlier last week, Ridge beat Parsippany 10-0, according to the team.

Undefeated Ridge Hockey Wins Rematch Against Watchung Hills

Next up is game against tough opponent Morristown on Tuesday.

Ridge High School ice hockey managed to win a rematch against Watchung Hills Regional in a Friday night contest described as a "very physical game." The game, played at Bridgewater Sports Arena, ended up going to Ridge 3-2, improving the team's season record at 12-0-1. The scoring started early and continued through the last minutes of the third quarter, according to information from the team. Ridge began the game by scoring two goals in the first few minutes, according to information from the team. Watchung Hills responded with one power play goal in the second quarter. Ridge then scored again in the third to bring it up to 3-1. Watchung Hills again scored a power play goal with about five minutes remaining in the third quarter, according…

Ridge Ice Hockey Faces Watchung Hills Friday

MSG Varsity TV also expected to broadcast Jan. 19 game against Bridgewater-Raritan.

Unbeaten Ridge High School ice hockey takes on Watching Hills Regional High School in a rematch of last Friday's contest at 8:15 p.m. this Friday at Bridgewater Sports Arena, according to information from the team. The team will skate out at BSA with its undefeated record (11-0-1) intact following last Friday's 4 to 2 win over Watchung Hills, followed up by a 4-1 victory over Hillsborough last Saturday. Bridgewater Sports Arena is at 1425 Frontier Road in Bridgewater. In the Watchung Hills game, Kyle Leddy scored a hat trick (3 goals). Ridge Ice Hockey Opens Season With Win

Team beats Montgomery, but faces two other rivals this week.

This year's Ridge High School ice hockey team opened the season with a 3-2 win against longtime Skylands Conference rival Montgomery in a game last Saturday night, according to the team's website. Highlights of the game are on the ice hockey program's new vimeo website. The varsity team next plays Brick Memorial on Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. and then perennial rival Bridgewater-Raritan at 8:15 p.m. on Friday night at the Bridgewater Sports Arena in Bridgewater. Friday night's game will be a team-sponsored charity event to aid Operation Santa Jersey Shore.
