Brite Nites Bring Halloween Scare to Wagner Farm

The annual Brite Nites show opened to a sold-out crowd Saturday after rain cancelled Friday night's festivities at the Wagner Farm Arboretum. Brite Nites, which runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through Oct. 28, includes spooky music, carved pumpkins, a haunted house and refreshments. This year's display includes eight scenes that get increasingly scary as you head through the haunted house. For information and to purchase tickets, visit the Brite Nites page on the WFA website.

Brite Nites Event Cancelled For Friday at Wagner Farm Arboretum

Poor weather conditions have claimed the first night of the event.

The first frightful night of fun at Wagner Farm Arboretum for the Halloween season has been washed away. Brite Nites was to begin Friday at 7 p.m., with the event continuing on Saturday and Sunday, and then again next Friday, Saturday and Sunday. However, the hard rain that swept the area caused the cancellation of the first evening. According to the website, there will be no refunds given, but those who have already purchased tickets can go at another time during the other nights of the event. However, the site recommends not coming for 7 p.m., due to a large amount of presales for that time slot. Each night has three time slots: 7, 7:30 and 8. This year's Brite Nites will build on last year's vignettes to a suitably-scary ending. And …

Just like the daffodil and dogwood blooms,Wagner Farm Arboretum's Spring Boutique opens as the weather warms, offering a special shopping experience for those looking for craft items and locally-produced farm specialties. This weekend marks the final weekend for the boutique, so make plans to visit between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday. It's a great opportunity to find special last-minute Mother's Day gifts, too. Among the exhibitors is Kristina Lloyd of Basking Ridge, whose display will include beaded jewelry, cards, photography and a painting.
