ReplyAnnie~extremely stupid comment. Just because people have strong feelings and are against the mosque does not make them racists and bigots!

ReplyLove LCB's thoughts. Our schools are certainly progressive when it comes to academics, but the foods being offered are horrific. I will be sending my kids to school with their lunches so that they can be eating organic peanut butter on whole wheat bread, in-season fresh fruit and granola and cookies that I make at home with high quality ingredients. Well---not all that stuff every day, but that is the type of things that are not to be found in a school cafeteria so this mama is going to be hard at work ensuring a healthy lunch for her kids (hopefully they won't trade!!!--but as my kids do not usually get things in shiny, crinkly packages, the temptation should be diminished)

ReplyI am saddened to read of this incident. While I would welcome more education about the Sikh community, I think that it is spiritual depravity and a basic lack of morality that drives people to do things like this, not a lack of education.

ReplyHi Fred: I find it shocking that Olympians would eat the stuff as you mention! I've read about Trey Hardee (oh I hope I have the correct athlete and name!) and his diet, as detailed in Outside magazine, is pristine. And I thought most Olympians ate for optimal performance.

ReplyHi TJ--yes, thank you for pointing that out. I will admit it may have been offensive to those that are short and healthy and strong, and that one does not have to be tall to be considered healthy. Mea culpa. My green drinks taste green, for sure, but not overly so. I do add fruit, but not that much. Much to my chagrin, my kids still like very sweet drinks, like Gatorade, so the green drinks I make for them need to bridge the gap between what their taste buds will accept and what they will reject. I will be doing a blog post soon, on my blog www.juicygreengirl.com, about green drinks and will post recipes and proportions. Many of my friends and people who know that I make green drinks have expressed an interest, so a detailed blog post is forthcoming.

ReplyThanks xue..I do use honey too. But carefully, though, because it is sweeter than sugar. I do not have much of a sweet tooth, but use any sweeteners very sparingly. Thanks for reading, glad you are enjoying.
