They should have this on a Saturday to get a bigger turn out. Afterall, we only have one planet to live on right now and we need to protect it for ourselves and the future generations of humanity. Think 5, 10, 20 thousand years into the future. Where will humans be without the earth?

Okay, I go to family functions all the time (I have a huge family) and I want to be the driver home. I WILL NOT drink even one glass of beer or one glass of wine. I just will not. It is pure utter stupidity to drink anything alcoholic knowing you have to drive. There are sober people on the road who are complete idiots and you need to be able to have all your wits and reflexes available to you.

Come on people, we all know that drinking and driving is illegal and just plain stupid. One beer could be enough to relax your attention span or reflexes just enough so that you cause an accident.

How could anybody justify that drinking and driving is okay? I just don't understand it. But then again, I'm the Good Guy, so maybe it's beyond my ability to understand.

I say all new automobiles should be equipped with a breathalyzer and that the car won't start if there is alcohol detected on your breath. That would be much better than the idiotic TPMS systems.

I decided to start saving for the tickets so my father and I can go, but then thought it might be better to pay the mortgage instead.

One of my favorite races and the first one I ever ran (3 years ago). This year there was such a big turn out, which was great. The killer -- running up Walnut... twice!

Residents of Madison: Next year let's break 1,000 runners and walkers! For those that can't run, it only takes about 45 minutes to walk the route at a brisk pace., 60 minutes at most.

If you use a rubber band and a paper clip and shoot at passing cars, it's illegal. If you shoot spit balls at a passing car, it's illegal. If you collect dead birds and throw them at passing cars, it's illegal. It's the action that illegal, not the weapon.

First, most cars on the road are not made in America and a great deal of the parts in American cars are not made in America.

Second, if we continue on this trend of outsourcing jobs and buying foreign products there will be two types of people in America - poor and rich. There are going to be two types of jobs, managers and minimum wage. This will lead to one thing, the end of America.

Maybe if you were in a job or field that has been outsourced, downsized, resized, or realigned you would understand what I'm talking about. I have been in the work force since 1988 and every day my job in threatened to be given to 20 year old Indians who are working for 80 hours a week at minimum wage. When I lose my job, the companies that lay me off, lose customers, but the rich executives only see one thing, how big their bonuses are, not how they are destroying our country and the future of America.

So countinue this trend and short sightedness. You and I won't be around to see its outcome but your kids will be. I feel sorry for them.

How many of you obey the speed limit (30 does not mean 45, 65 does not mean 80), realize that the lines on the road are not there for decoration and driving over them is illegal, know tailgating is dangerous, use your turn signals every time, do not weave in and out of traffic on the highway, do not cut off other drivers, know that a yellow light means STOP, not go faster, have common courtesy for the other drivers on the road, leave one car length between you and the car in front of you for every 10 MPH you are driving (that means 30 feet for 30 MPH, 60 feet for 60 MPH), know speeding up to the bumper of the car in front of you and then swerving around them is dangerous.

I do not think many of you know this. If people lived their lives the way they drive, most of them would be dead by 20.

Distracted driving is not the problem. The problem is when people get behind the wheel they feel invulnerable and think they are better, faster, smarter, stronger and MORE IMPORTANT than everyone else on the road. They think that their TIME is more valuable than the LIVES of those on the road around them. They do not realize that speeding and aggressive driving does not gain any significant time.

Driving is a privilege, not a right. That privilege should be earned and taken away more easily than it is now.
