The Ridge Baseball 15U team will head to the team's own Babe Ruth championship game on Thursday night, after winning the state semi-final game on Tuesday with a 12-4 victory over Wood-Ridge.

That game was played at Kane Field, 80 Dorigo Lane in Secaucus, and that will be the same location for Thursday's state championship game against the home team, Secaucus Babe Ruth, said Ridge Coach Tom Ardiff.

Ardiff said that the 15U teams from both northern and southern New Jersey, including the Ridge team if victorious tonight, would compete in the regional Babe Ruth championship as the next level.

Meanwhile for those who want to stick closer to home on Thursday night, the Township Planning Board begins at 7:30 p.m. The agenda is online.

The Planning Board had been expecting to continue a hearing on a proposed 4,250-square-foot mosque in Liberty Corner Village, but that now has been rescheduled to the board's next meeting on Aug. 6 since the board's regular attorney, Jonathan Drill, is unable to attend this week's meeting, said Board Secretary Fran Florio.

Recent hearings have focused on a discussion about how many parking spaces would be required at the proposed house of worship that the Islamic Society of Basking Ridge wants to build at 124 Church St. in Liberty Corner Village.

Baby Time scheduled for Thursday morning

Meanwhile, the Bernards Township Library at 32 S. Maple Ave. is inviting babies from birth to 15 months to attend "Baby Time" at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Doors open at 9:15 a.m., and siblings are welcome to also drop by for the program. For information, call 204-3031, ext. 3.
