The Fresh Market Schedules Application Day in Advance of Career Forum

The Fresh Market, bringing one of the chain's self-described "old-world, European-style gourmet" grocery stores to Bedminster has now set an Applications Day on Wednesday, Oct. 16, to precede a career forum set in Somerset on Oct. 23. 

"We are looking for individuals like you to help us create a special shopping adventure for our customers," the store said in a release. 

The Fresh Market already has scheduled a Career Forum in Somerset on Oct. 23 with the stated goal of filling about 80 to 90 job positions at the new store.

The Career Open House will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the DoubleTree Somerset Hotel and Conference Center in Somerset.

The store expects to open at the end of this year, likely in November, a spokesperson said earlier.

Those who want assistance to apply online to the career day open house can do so from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Somerset County One-Stop Career Center in Somerville

The career center, part of the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development is 75 Veterans Memorial Drive East in Somerville.

According to The Fresh Market, the Workforce Center Staff will be on hand to assist applicants in submitting applications for the following positions:

• Assistant Deli Manager
• Assistant Front End Manager
• Assistant Grocery Specialist
• Assistant Produce Manager
• Baker
• Bulk Specialist
• Candy/Coffee Specialist
• Cheese Specialist
• Gift / Floral Specialist
• Grocery Specialist
• Meat Cutter
• Seafood Specialist

Applicants are asked to bring a copy of their resume to upload to the application.

Those who can’t attend the application day still may apply online at www.thefreshmarket.com/careers. Applicants should “key word search” 181 to be directed to the Bedminster positions.
