$35K Worth of Jewelry Snatched From Bernards Home

Forced entry was made into Haas Road home last week.

Watches, earrings, bracelets and necklaces were among an estimated $35,000 worth of jewelry stolen from a Haas Road home that was broken in last week, Bernards Township police reported on Thursday.

Police said entry was forced into the locked home some time between about noon and 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

No one was home at the time of the reportedly burglary, Bernards Police Lt. Michael Voorhees said.

Voorhees said police have no suspects at this time.

The exact value of the items reported stolen is still being tallied, he said on Thursday.

Voorhees said police advise residents to keep valuables in a safe, if kept at home, and to secure that safe and put it in an "obscure place," not the master bedroom.
