Ridge Football Heads Back Onto Lee Field

The Red Devils scrimmage with opponent Friday in preparation for first game against Montgomery on Sept. 12.

The Ridge football team is ready to take possession of Lee Field again.

On Friday night, the team met Henry P. Becton in a home scrimmage, and started out with a touchdown by senior Matt Soulas.

The season's first game, to be played at 7 p.m. at home, falls on a Thursday night, and will be played against Montgomery. That game will be blackout night. The team's victory against Montgomery last year, followed by a win against rival Immaculata, set the stage for a winning streak last fall.

This year, the Immaculata game is scheduled to be played away at 7 p.m. in Somerville on Sept. 20.

Scrimmage victory against Becton

Although it was only a scrimmage, Ridge beat Becton 38-14 last Friday night, Tracy later said.

Conor Hughes — QB/defensive halfback/punter/kicker

Nick Franzese — Halfback/defensive halfback/return man

A.J. Peterpaul — Center/offensive and defensive guard

Ryan Bell — End/defensive end

Other games on the schedule are:

Sept. 27 — Home game against Linden at 7 p.m.
