New state regulations will increase time spent on teacher evaluations, and set up standard ratings, school board is told.

A crowd gathers around the children who officially presented a large replica of a $420,000 "check" to the Board of Education to preserve the full-day kindergarten program for 2011-12. The money later was returned to donors after the school district received unanticipated additional state aid that covered the cost of the full-day program.
