Report: Tree Worker's Death at Nudist Club Accidental

State Medical Examiner issues report in death of man killed by falling tree limb at Sky Farm Nudist Club.

The state Medical Examiner's Office has issued an official report saying that the in Basking Ridge was accidental and resulted from blunt trauma to the head, said on Tuesday.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) apparently has informally reached the same conclusion, said Township Police Lt. Mike Voorhees.

"The work zone was small," Voorhees said on Tuesday. The victim appears to have walked under the falling limb, although Voorhees said the exact circumstances of the accident may never be known.

Rutikowski, pronounced dead at the site of the accident, was an employee of Tamke Tree Experts, located nearby on Martinsville Road in the township, according to the police report.

is private, member-owned cooperative and club located on wooded land at 177 Allen Road, nearby the Sons of Liberty municipal park. The club has promoted family nudism since 1932, according to the website. The seasonal summer destination features 35 acres of land, Poconos-like cabins, a pool, sauna, hot tub and club house, according to information on the private club.

Police said they originally responded to Sky Farm at 9:24 a.m. on April 24 on a report of a head injury. Upon arrival, officers located a male who was hit by a falling tree limb while working with two other Tamke coworkers on the property, the police report said.

A Medevac helicopter initially was contacted to assist the victim, but that call was canceled after the man was pronounced dead at the scene, township police added later.

His identity was initially withheld while police contacted relatives, according to the police report.

According to MyCentralJersey.com, Tamke issued a statement saying that witness accounts and interviews following the accident indicated all safety measures had been followed. “He was part of the Tamke family and will be missed by all. Our heartfelt condolences go out to all his family and friends," the company was quoted as saying of Rutikowski.
