Ridge Rips Montgomery Behind Hughes in Opener
Touchdowns in the air, on the ground and on defense lead Red Devils to season-opening win.
Ridge High School came out strong to start the football season with a big victory over Montgomery 36-7. The game was played away, and the second half started with a half-hour delay due to lightning.

Ridge had two passing touchdowns on big plays from Nick Franzese from quarterback Conor Hughes. Hughes brought in his own score taking an interception 50 yards for a score. Hughes found paydirt passing in the air again finding Ryan Bell for another touchdown. Rounding out the scoring was Captain Evan Skea who brought in the final touchdown with a one-foot run.
Ridge next faces Immaculata High School at home Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.
