Video: Navy Band Northeast Wows Bernards

Under the direction of Lt. Carl Gerhard, a Ridge alum, the Navy Band played for the 250th anniversary of Bernards.

The Ridge Performance Arts Center was packed from front row to the back wall for the performance of the Navy Band Northeast Pops Ensemble.

The band is directed by Lt. Carl Gerhard, who grew up in Basking Ridge and attended Ridge High School in 1981. They played a two-hour concert with two encores, featuring a range of selections from a John Philip Sousa march to the musical stylings of Charlie Parker and Nat King Cole.

The band will be playing several events in the next few days in the New York City area as a part of "Fleet Week." The full schedule of their concerts can be found here.
