Ridge Football Gears Up for Next State Playoff Game Against Linden

Red Devils host state semifinal game Friday night.

You can see the signs up around town, and hear the Ridge Red Devils fans talking: They'll be there at Lee Field at 7 p.m. on Friday night, in a game against Linden, to cheer on the football team in the next round of the state playoffs.

The undefeated Red Devils (10-0) will face Linden in the state semifinals Friday night at home at Lee Field. Ridge defeated Linden earlier this season 20-14 in overtime.

Last Friday, Ridge football continued its historic season with a 35-28 victory over Westfield at Lee Field for the first round of the Group 5, North 2 playoffs.

Westfield had tied up the score at 21 with just eight seconds left before the half, but Ridge shut down Westfield's offense in the second half, and tacked on two touchdowns from Liam Derkasch to finish the game at 35-28.
