Three-Day VNA Rummage Sale Launches For Weekend

Famed giant rummage sale attract shoppers and volunteers to the Far Hills Fairground throughout Monday.

With a beautiful spring day providing the backdrop, the Far Hills fairgrounds attracted crowds of bargain hunters to Friday's opening day of the three-day spring rummage sale, a fundraiser for the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills.

The sale continues through Sunday at the fairgounds off Route 202 in Far Hills. Scheduled hours are this Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

This is the mother of all rummage sales, nearly a century old, with thousands of donated items from furniture to frippery, fashions and lots of necessities. The sale benefits the programs and the underinsured patients for the VNA, based in Basking Ridge. Volunteers sort and price items beforehand, and place them in about two dozen large tents where shoppers can browse.
