Pet Project: Artists' Exhibits Benefit Animal Shelter

Kittens were on hand for art sale that benefits Friends of Somerset Regional Animal Shelter and Farmstead Arts as well as portraying animals.

People weren't the only guests at Saturday's reception for the opening of the "Art for Paws Exhibit and Sale," which runs most weekend days through June 26 at the .

Kittens available for adoption also were at the reception for the show, which features local artists who are donating their art for sale to benefit the Friends of Somerset Regional Animal Shelter and the Farmstead Arts.

The exhibit will be continue from 1 to 4 p.m. on  Saturdays and Sundays, on June 11, 12, 18, and 25 at the Farmstead Arts center. Art for Paws will not have gallery hours on Sunday, June 19, Father's Day, according to Kristina Lloyd, gallery coordinator.
