Somerset Hills YMCA Holding Free 'Open House' Sunday

All in community are invited to sample programs and facilities.

This Sunday, the Somerset Hills YMCA is hosting another open house for everyone in the community to come and take a tour of the facilities and/or try out various activities and classes at both of its locations in Basking Ridge.

The open house is scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. at both the YMCA's main location at 140 Mount Airy Road and at the Riverwalk location, 665 Martinsville Road, also in Bernards Township.

Some of free classes and activities for attendees to enjoy include group exercise, dance and arts classes, and also open pools and gyms. A full open house schedule is on the Somerset Hills YMCA's website.

At the Mount Airy location, attendees can enjoy Kinesis, TRX suspension, Zumba, Hip Hop classes, preschool dance, guitar and video production classes, according to information from the YMCA. Also at that site, the pools and water slides will be open, as well as the open gymnastics, open family gym and the rock climbing wall.

The Riverwalk location is scheduled to feature yoga and strength and balance classes. Babysitting will be available at both locations.

Guests — and potential members — are encouraged to check the website for a full schedule and times of events.

Both locations will hold raffles for 10 personal training sessions. Upon arrival, open house attendees are encouraged to check in at the Welcome Center to be entered into the raffles.

“This is a great opportunity for people in the community to come and find out what the Y is all about,” said Sue Diebold, Senior Director of Healthy Living at the Somerset Hills YMCA. “Yes, we do have a fantastic facility here, but we really run much deeper than that. We offer all kinds of support programs for youth, teens, families and active older adults that help everyone grow in spirit, mind and body.”
