Strong Dogs Day Held at Somerset Hills YMCA

People and pups participate in doggy-related activities, learn about pets and find out about services available for canines.

The Somerset Hills YMCA's Strong Dogs Day went off without a hitch on Saturday outdoors at the Y's main Basking Ridge facility at 140 Mount Airy Road, even with a wide selection of leashed pooches of all types and sizes in close proximity.

Canines (and their humans) were welcome to drop by to see demonstrations by such groups at K9 Miracles's training demonstration.

The day included treats for people and pets, and information to learn about how to care for your best friend.

The event is a fundraiser to offer assistance through the Strong Kids program to those in the community who cannot afford YMCA programs.

More photos to come.

Just heard that many of the rescue and foster dogs have found loving homes thanks to Strong Dogs Day!

Professor and I really enjoyed our day at Strong Dogs. The weather was perfect and "Pro" just loved all of the attention he received from the adults and kids at the event. He also made a lot of new doggy friends and was greatful for the Blessing of the Hounds. Thanks to the Basking Ridge YMCA for such a wonderful experience! We'll see ya next year :)
