Local Dance Company Holds Auditions for the NUTCRACKER

The Repertory Dancers is holding auditions for their 5th annual production of the Nutcracker on Saturday, September 15 in Bernardsville.  Auditions will be held at the Dance Center of New Jersey, in the Great Hall of St. Bernard’s Episcopal Church, 88 Claremont Road.

 The Nutcracker is a community production open to all students from the surrounding area.  Dancers with at least two years of Pointe experience will audition form 3:30-5:00pm for the Snow Scene as well as a few variations in the Second Act.  Younger performers, age 7 to 12, will audition from 2:30-4:00pm and will be cast in roles for Angels and Mother Ginger.  Young men ages 7 to 20 will audition from 2:30 to 4:00pm.  Experience in dance, acting, or athletics is preferred but not required.

 All parents must stay for the duration of the audition and will be required to attend a production meeting from 3:30-4 pm.  Performances are scheduled for the weekends of December 1st and 2nd at Voorhees High School in Glen Gardner, and December 8th and 9th at Bernard’s High School. Rehearsals will be held on Saturday afternoons from September right through to the performances.

 The Repertory Dancers is a pre-professional dance troupe that provides free tickets to this holiday classic to individuals and families in need throughout Hunterdon and Somerset County through churches and a variety of state, county and local social service organizations, and support groups. The Repertory Dancers is a 301(c)3 Not for Profit Corporation.
