Basking Ridge Couple Sues Macy's for 'Unsafe' Clothing Display

Couple alleges a store display caused injuries.

A Basking Ridge couple has filed suit against Macy’s in the Bridgewater Commons because the wife was injured because of an “unsafe display” in the store’s women’s section.

The suit filed in Somerset County Superior Court  by Kathleen O’Malley and her husband Richard does not detail the incident that occurred on Nov. 3, 2011, according to a report in mycentraljersey.com.

Besides Macy’s, the lawsuit also names an unnamed maintenance firm as a defendant.

The suit alleges that as a result of the incident, Mrs. O’Malley incurred past and continuing expenses for X-rays, hospital bills, prescription drugs and other medical costs, according to the published report.

The lawsuit also states that Mrs. O’Malley’s that is “permanent” and that she is “incapacitated,” according to the report.
