Peapack-Gladstone Bank collecting 'Baby Bundles' for those in need

Springtime is a period of rebirth and renewal, and a time when buds blossom, trees flower and when babies are born! And at this time, Peapack-Gladstone Bank is announcing that its branches will next week collect "baby bundles" to help newborns whose families are in need start life "happier and healthier, according to a news release from the bank.

"Did you know many low-income families, right in our own communities, struggle to purchase the basic needs of diapers, wipes, formula and essentials for their newborns, leading to potential health risks?" spokewoman Roseanne Schwab asked in a release from the bank. "Many times parents have to choose between putting food on the table or diapers on their babies."

The United Way of Northern New Jersey, in Somerset County and Peapack-Gladstone Bank have recognized that need and from April 16 through May 18 will hold a Baby Bundles fund drive, the announcement said.

The bank will be collecting NEW clothing, baby food, diapers, bottles, blankets, and other necessities at many of its branches including: Bernardsville, Chester, Far Hills, Gladstone, Long Valley, Piscataway, Pluckemin, and Mendham, the bank said.

Those Baby Bundle donations later will provide needy expectant parents and new mothers with supplies to provide for basic human needs.

In addition, Peapack-Gladstone Bank along with the United Way of Hunterdon County will simultaneously be collecting and distributing diapers and wipes for low-income families at its Califon, Oldwick and Whitehouse branches. With the Diaper Bank fund drive, Peapack-Gladstone Bank will be providing needy families in Hunterdon County the supplies they need to give their infants a better start in life, the release said.

In addition, diapers and incontinence supplies will be accepted for people with disabilities and those that are elderly and ill, according to the bank's announcement. Many of those items are not covered by insurance and Medicare, so these adults generally bear this expense for the remainder of their lives.

The bank is asking customers to pick up an item or two, and then to stop and deposit a donation in the collection bin at one of the listed Peapack-Gladstone Bank branches between April 16 and May 1

Established in 1921, Peapack-Gladstone Bank is a $1.60-billion asset, wholly owned community bank that offers a full range of quality banking products and services to businesses and residents through 23 full-service branches in Essex, Somerset, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Morris and Union counties.
