Ridge Family Dentistry Moves into Basking Ridge Center

Dentistry practice moves from further north on Ridge Street into prime building in Basking Ridge center previously occupied by BaseCamp Adventure Outfitters.

Following months of renovations and planning the move, Ridge Family Dentistry has opened in a prime building at 44-A South Finley Ave. that formerly had been built and occupied by BaseCamp Adventure Outfitters.

The general dentistry practice opened in the central location on Dec. 17, said office manager Annabella Oliva. The three dentists practicing in the new location moved from a smaller office at 16 Ridge St., near the Basking Ridge train station.

The dentists who see patients in the eight examination rooms are Dr. R. Cameron Witt, Dr. Joyce S. Kurdian and Dr. Lauren C. Simms.

As part of the practice, the dentists offer restorative and cosmetic dentistry, crowns available without a second visit, Zoom whitening, veneers and implants, Oliva said.

"We are very good with kids," she added.

The practice accepts all insurances, while participating with Delta Premier, she said. The office is open six days a week, with hours from from Monday through Saturday.

The expanded dental facility kept the wide plank-wood floor, "nature" feel and front porch of the building built for BaseCamp in 2003 to replace a car dealership, Oliva said. Several photographers of nature scenes from the nearby area by Liberty Corner photographer Filip Everaert are placed on the walls.

"We always enjoyed being involved in the community and this gives us an opportunity to participate more," Witt said.

Ridge Family Dentistry already handed out cider at the Christmas Eve community caroling, Oliva said. And she added that there are plans to use the long, broad porch facing South Finley Avenue to display the work of local artists when the weather is better.

BaseCamp closed shop in the location on June 29 and moved its shop with outdoor clothing, camping equipment and other outdoors merchandise to 30 Olcott Ave. in Bernardsville, opening soon afterward.

Ridge Family Dentistry formerly was named Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry of Basking Ridge, Oliva said last summer. The dentists Witt and Kurdian both are residents of Basking Ridge, she said at that time.
