Staying in Town this Week?

Movies, nature programs, even gum! And a night out with live music for adults!

Township schools out for recess this week, and once again the Bernards Township Library and Environmental Education Center comes through with plenty of programs to keep the kids, tweens and teens occupied.

The library is showing two movies: “Ramona and Beezus” and “Easy A.” It also has scheduled two video game events. Wednesday night’s will be a vintage video game night with nostalgic favorites like Mario Brothers. Something to remind today's gamers of the good ole days!

At the Environmental Education Center, most of the programs are, naturally, nature-centric. On Sunday, however, at “Chew on This,” kids can learn all about chewing gum and will even make some of their own gum to take home.

If having the kids home this week is making you just a tad crazy, a little retail therapy might help. Presidents Day Weekend sales will extend throughout the week with many great deals for the taking. On Friday night relax with live music at the The Acoustic Duo will be singing selections from current popular performers, adding their own acoustic spin to the music.
