Summer Camp Lottery and Ant Hockey Registration

Free SAT/ACT combo testing at the Bernards Township Library.

As soon as the Super Bowl parties are behind us, we can look forward to Valentine’s Day. In between figuring out what to get your special loved one and dropping your cards at the post office, note that there are several important dates on the calendar this week that might deserve your attention.

For folks with children (grades K thru 5), take note that the lottery to register for the town Summer Recreation Program begins on Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Town Hall.

Registration forms and payment will be accepted Monday through Friday each day until 5:30 p.m. and should be submitted in person so that you can pick up your lottery tickets. The lottery will be processed the following week and registrants will be advised of their status Monday, Feb 28. If the programs are filled, a wait list will be generated.

On Thursday, registration for another popular kids’ program, Ant Hockey, will also begin. Ant  Hockey is a co-ed, floor hockey program played at William Annin School for grades K to 5. Also sponsored by the Department of Recreation, the program kicks off the week of March 7. Equipment and t-shirts are provided.

For older kids, the Bernards Township Library is hosting a practice testing session for SAT and ACT college admissions tests on Saturday. Kaplan, a leader in test preparation, is providing a free Combo test where students can take sample SAT and ACT tests to see how well they might do on a real test. Knowing in which area they excel can give students a leg up on the testing and admissions process.
