New 'Event' Salon Opens in Basking Ridge

Even the grand opening was fun for Bella Rouge, a new blow-dry hair bar and "event" salon that now is located in part of the Sandra John Interiors building at the corner of North Maple Avenue and Route 202 in northern Basking Ridge.

One Case of Measles Confirmed in Somerset County

The New Jersey Department of Health has confirmed one case of measles in Somerset County and is investigating two other reported cases of measles in people determined to be at locations in the area from March 6 to March 12.

Appreciation for William "Billy" Zimmermann, just a few weeks shy of his 20th birthday, along with support for his family in Bernards Township, were offered by the hundreds of mourners who attended his funeral Mass on Tuesday morning at St. James R.C. Church. The young man's life drew friends and family from the multiple schools he attended, including Villanova University, along with local residents.

Ridge Traffic Task Force to Issue Online & Public Reports

The longstanding debate over how to reduce morning traffic at the entrance to Ridge High School went before a specially appointed task force last fall. The task force now is ready to issue an online report on Monday, and hold a public session to further discuss options the following Monday, March 25.

Scott Paladini, who grew up in Bernards Township and graduated from Ridge High School in 1998, held a grand opening on Saturday, March 16, for Hibernate Bedding, which he and his fiance have opened off Route in Bernardsville, next door to Monterey Gourmet.

Bernards Town Hall Plans for Generator

The prolonged power outage following Superstorm Sandy last fall convinced township officials of the need for a reliable and adequately-sized generator at the town hall. But outfitting the amply sized vintage building hasn't been as easy as it might sound — and the Bernards Township Committee hired an engineer to help come up with a properly outfitted system.

Basking Ridge Garden Club Celebrates 90th Anniversary

Did you any idea how much the Basking Ridge Garden Club does to beautify the town? The Bernards Township Committee last week recognized the club's many decades of contributions. Club members are planning a celebration on June 12 at Fair Winds Catering off Madisonville Road in Basking Ridge.
