Farmstead Arts Center in Basking Ridge unveils "Art 'round World", an international art & crafts program that draws on the creativity of world cultures. Developed by teaching artist Joy Ann Cabanos, this 5-session journey takes students (Grades 3 - 6) through two different countries. Artifacts, slideshows and discussions introduce each country/culture. Students will experience an adaptation of a traditional craft, and create a painting that captures their interest and curiosity for the country/culture they just explored. They will practice basic techniques in various painting media: watercolor, acrylics, collage & mixed media. They will also build knowledge on geography and culture, and grow their imaginations towards becoming engaged, informed and creative global citizens.
Spring Session runs for 5 Saturdays: March 15, 22, 29, April 5 and April 12.
Time: 3pm - 4pm
