Lysistrata Play Reading by Farmstead Players

A plan for peace – Lysistrata style!

The Farmstead Players will read Lysistrata Monday, October 14, 2013 at 7 pm at Farmstead Arts Center, 450 King George Road, Basking Ridge.

Written by Aristophanes and set in classical Athens, the comedy pits women who are sick of war against their militaristic husbands and lovers. Led by strong-willed Lysistrata, they refuse sex with their men until a peace treaty ending The Peloponnesian War is signed. Their strategy creates a major battle between the sexes.
There is no admission charge for the reading directed by Farmstead Arts Artistic Director William Ward or for intermission refreshments, but contributions are gratefully accepted. To learn about casting for readings, contact wjpward@verizon.net.
