Green Screen Film Event - GASLAND Documentary + Q&A

Please join the Bernardsville Green Team for the screening of the documentary GASLAND and a post-screening Q&A.  Learn about the effects of the new natural gas drilling technology called “fracking” through the eyes of filmmaker, Josh Fox, who, when asked to lease his land for drilling, embarks on a cross-country odyssey to find out if the practice of “fracking” is safe.

We selected this film to bring awareness to the controversial practice of natural gas drilling in the Delaware Valley and the imminent environmental impact to local area water quantity and quality, habitat destruction and air quality. This issue is particularly relevant as approximately 3 million New Jersey residents rely on the Delaware Watershed for their water supply.  It is also timely, with the NJ legislature just adopting a one-year moratorium for additional time to evaluate the safety of the process.

The film will be followed by a Q&A led by two area environmental experts.  We are thrilled to have Tracy Carluccio, Deputy Director Of Delaware Riverkeeper and Jim Walsh, Food & Water Watch Eastern Director, join us to update us on current legislation and answer your questions regarding the enthusiastic embrace of fracking by the gas industry as an essential part of the available energy mix, regulatory controls and an outright ban.
