Juveniles Questioned Regarding Krauszer's Break-ins

Third break-in over a span of a few days was followed by helicopter search in Canterbury Way area.

Bernards Township Police said three local juveniles have been questioned regarding three reported overnight break-ins at Krauszer's Food Store in Liberty Corner this week, the last of which prompted a state police helicopter sweep in the Canterbury Way area.

While that helicopter search did not locate the suspects, reportedly seen leaving the store in downtown Liberty Corner early Wednesday morning, two of the juveniles contacted police later in the day, according to township police.

At this point, "we have three possible juvenile suspects," Police Lt. Michael Voorhees said on Thursday morning.

According to township police reports, the first break-in took place at about 2 a.m. last Saturday, when a window was broken on the front door of the store at 21 Church St. That prompted an alarm. Police said that packs of cigars apparently had been taken.

Police reported that the alarm was not set the second night, when the opposite side of front door was reportedly forced open again between about 2 a.m. to 4:45 a.m. The police report said it was not apparent what was taken at that time.

According to the police report, eyewitnesses saw people leaving the scene after a third reported break-in early Wednesday morning. Those people reportedly left on a bicycle and fled along a path leading from behind the Liberty Corner Elementary School to Canterbury Way, off Mount Airy Road.

Police helicopters were reported in that area at about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to the police report, cigars also were taken during the third entry into Krauszer's, and it appeared that some cash had been taken from the cash register.

I think these boys, along with there bad parents should be held accountable. And should be aressted and charged. Dumb little rich kids.

A helicopter ? Really? How much do we think that cost vs a good old fashion stake out? Talk about spoiled kids... The only difference is one of them had sweatshirts and the others had uniforms & guns!

How do you know that they're rich? Or that they have bad parents? Or anything, for that matter? Perhaps judgement can be held until the facts are known

I live right next to this place. The parking lot is a haven for drug dealers, kids sneaking around to smoke pot and have sex in cars. I am CONSTANTLY finding condoms and wrappers outside around my house, trash, etc. I've called the police probably 5-6 times in the past year but these kids keep coming back. This little corner is actually pretty sad for such a nice neighborhood. I'm scared to go out at night cause I never know who may be sitting in the dark outside my own house!

I agree with Lisa and HG...and Rob--you're delusional (which is typical of many people in this town).
