All Lanes Opened on Rte. 287N after Thursday Accident

But traffic remained delayed for hours.

All lanes have been reopened along Route 287 north as of before 8 a.m. on Thursday, following an earlier crash near milepost 31 in Harding Township.

However, traffic on 287 northbound continued to be delayed for hours, into the afternoon, for miles south of exit 30.

The accident had left a tractor trailer overturned as of 7 a.m. Thursday, according to police. At that time, traffic was being diverted off Route 287 northbound at exit 30, said state police in Somerville barracks.

Exit 30 north heading back onto the highway was closed at that time, state police said.

Local police said traffic was heavy on the North Maple Avenue in Bernards Township.

The accident along Route 287 northbound around milepost 31 in Harding Township resulted in minor injuries, according to State Trooper Perez.
