While on Route 78 westbound at 1:50 p.m. on Saturday, township patrol officers William Seiple and Christopher Albanese reportedly observed a 1994 Lincoln Town Car that police said was swerving in and out of the center lane of travel and into the far left hand lane on a consistent basis.

The officers reportedly stopped the vehicle on Route 78 near the scenic overlook. Seiple said he made contact with the driver, Michael Sailer, and observed that he and his passenger, Timothy Harris, allegedly exhibited physical signs suggesting both recently had been involved in intravenous drug use. Based on the way the vehicle was being driven and the physical signs, Seiple believed that the driver and passenger had recently ingested narcotics, according to the police report.

Upon request, police said Sailer granted Seiple permission to search the vehicle. Near the driver’s seat, Seiple allegedly discovered eight wax folds containing heroin, a hypodermic syringe and an empty wax fold, police said. A single pill of Cyclobenzaprine was found on Sailer’s person, the police report said.

Police also reported that Seiple allegedly found an empty wax fold and a pack of rolling papers near the front passenger seat. The passenger, Harris, is also acccused having had three hypodermic syringes and six empty wax folds on his person, police said.

Both individuals were placed under arrest, transported to headquarters, processed and released on their own recognizance, according to police.
