Traffic 'Light' on Icy Bernards Roads
Basking Ridge area still digging out on Wednesday.
Drivers should expect roads in the Bernards Township area to remain iced today since temperatures in the teens are too cold for road salt to be effective.
"People should go slow and be prepared for icy roads," said Bernards Township Police Capt. Ed Byrnes.
However, he added that as of shortly before 1 p.m., traffic had been light, and there had been few issues of drivers having problems on local roadways.
Throughout the township, residents and businesses were still cleaning up after Tuesday's storm.
Bernards Township schools had opened on a two-hour delayed schedule on Wednesday. Surrounding school districts were closed for the day.
