Trio Wanted for Stealing $1,500 in Baby Formula

Shoplifting incident happened last Sunday at the A&P.

Three people are wanted for stealing more than $1,500 worth of baby formula from the A&P market at Dewy Meadow shopping village last weekend, Bernards Township Police said.

Two women were seen stuffing black bags with the formula and left the store without paying at about 11 a.m. Sunday, police said. The women were described as black and in their late 40s, police said.

A man, also described as black and in his late 40s, was seen in the parking lot, police said.

The trio then drove away in a light blue Acura MDX with a license plate that was obscured by a brown bag, police said.

Voorhees said items such as baby formula are considered "high retail" and can easily be resold.

Police also made a shoplifting arrest last week at the Rite-Aid in the Lyons Mall where a Basking Ridge woman allegedly stole about $1,000 worth of weight-loss products.
