Woman Says Wallet Stolen At Stop & Shop

Theft reportedly took place last Sunday.

 

A woman who said she used the bathroom at supermarket and left her wallet in a shopping cart while inside returned to find the wallet missing, township police reported.

The woman, a 31-year-old Lyons resident, reported the wallet stolen last Sunday at about 7:30 p.m., police said. She said she had been in the bathroom at the supermarket for about 10 minutes and the wallet, which was inside the shopping cart, was left unattended during that time, according to the police report.

The woman told police she then continued her shopping and realized that the wallet was missing from the cart when she went to the checkout counter.

The wallet is described as a “Coach Wristlet,” creme colored. The wallet contained approximately $120 cash and various forms of identification, according to the police report.
