Cops: Family Dog Foils Burglary Attempt

Police say they believe a purse snatching from unlocked vehicle and break-in foiled by a dog are linked.

said they believe the theft of a purse from an unlocked vehicle at a house on King George Road and a burglary at a nearby home that was prevented by the family dog in a similar time frame are linked.

However, not much was taken in either incident, police said.

Police said a purse was stolen from an unlocked car parked in the driveway of a home on King George Road on May 27. However, the purse was later located, and the main items missing were a debit card and a credit card, police said.

The credit card was expired, police said.

Meanwhile, some time between the evening of May 26 and at 12:45 p.m. on May 27, police said there was an attempted burglary at a home on nearby Cedar Drive.

The home was entered through a window, leaving dirt behind, but the family dog prevented further entry, police said.

Police said that nothing was apparently taken.

The incidents remain under investigation, according to police.
