Contractor Hired for Tennis & Basketball Court Repairs

Work to be done at facilities at four Bernards Township municipal parks.

Tillerman Landscaping LLC. of Whitehouse Station has been hired by to repair tennis courts and basketball courts at four different municipal parks in Bernards Township.

The Township Committee on Tuesday voted to award Tillerman a contract for $87,650, as the lowest of three bidders to perform the repairs. The other bids were for $109,800 and $135,120.

The money will be allocated from the municipal budget, not borrowed, according to the resolution, and also township officials.

The tennis courts to be repaired are two at Rebel Hill Park, and five, courts 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8 at

Township Administrator Bruce McArthur said some tennis courts previously had been repaired under a previous project. The contract calls for any cracks on the courts to be patched, not a complete resurfacing, McArthur said on Tuesday night.

The contract also calls for color coating, re-striping and various other repairs and new equipment at the township basketball courts located at off North Maple Avenue and at Pleasant Valley Park, McArthur said.

The work is due to be completed this summer, according to the Township Committee's resolution.
