Bernards Democratic Committee Candidates Discuss Issues [VIDEO]

Two Democrats will face two Republican incumbents in this November's race for two available seats on the Bernards Township Committee.

Four candidates competing for two open positions on the Bernards Township Committee introduced themselves and spoke about some of the issues in the township at the Oct. 18 candidates' forum hosted by the Ridge Empowerment for Political Participation club, and moderated by the League of Women Voters of Somerset County.

The candidates for the two three-year positions included Republican incumbents John Malay and Carolyn Gaziano, who is this year's deputy mayor, and Democratic challengers Michael Komondy and David Ferdinand.

Today, Patch runs the opening and closing statements of the Democratic candidates. The Republican candidates' statements also are on video on Patch.
