Dunham Park Roller Rink Repairs Come with Heavy Price Tag

Motion for further investigation requested to avoid budgetary constraints.

The once heavily used Dunham Roller Hockey Rink was a major topic of discussion at the Aug. 2 Recreation, Parks and Pathways meeting. The committee debated whether to pursue repairing the now-closed rink, and how much it would cost.

Parks and Recreation Director Jennifer Gander brought up for discussion the recent estimate by Assistant Township Engineer Tom Timko. The final cost to repave the rink and replace its drainage system (preventing future damage) was estimated at $176,358.

Due to the high cost, the committee voted to request further investigation and testing to find why the cracks were being created on and around the roller rink. The motion was approved.
